more TOGR photos

I plugged in my camera today and found a couple more photos that had been saved in the camera as opposed to the memory card (fortunate, too, because the memory card has gone ‘up the lorry loh’).

Anyway, more pictures for the gallery! A look at a few:

The Rodent family: Fox, Ferret, and Weasel. I think there’s a Beaver somewhere, too, but I never saw it.

One of the few nice photos I have with Lips, our trimmer – who likes to make weird faces most of the time when taking pictures. He picked the flowers!

top of the gulf – the photo post

So now we’re back from Thailand and straight into 470 training because our coach, Craig, is in town. Just a couple of photos from TOGR to share. The number of cameras out on water was mind-boggling – I suppose it helps when you can bring them out on the boat in waterproof bags and there’s a cabin (so-called the ‘pit’) to store them!

This is the Platu we chartered, ‘The Weasel’.

Though by the end of the regatta, the stickers were peeling somewhat, to make us ‘The Wesel’:

My awesome Platu crew – Karene, (Me), Jun Jia, Lip Hang, Siobhan, and Winfrid.

Aboard “The Stingray”, sailed by two of our schoolmates and three exchange students from UWA.

And the full team:

3 Platus and a cruiser = a lot of sailors!

highlights of the day

We’ve just started racing in the Platu, with 2 races held: one short course and a fiasco of a passage race! I hope seeing jury for redress on the first day of the regatta (and for the second race!) isn’t going to become a trend for us …

Long story short, the windward mark was missing for the race. ‘Nuff said!

The real highlight of our day, though, was that we saw dolphins – two frisking about near our boat after the first race. :)
